Spring Season

Registration: Begins around November & Ends January 31st
Evaluations/ Tryouts: 1st two weeks of February - Team creation proceeds promptly after
Practice: Mid-February - Mid to Late March (4 to 6 weeks of practice)
Opening Day: Mid to Late March
Season Length (Game Play): Late March - Mid May ( 6 to 8 weeks of game play)

Fall Season

Registration:  Begins Early June & Ends Mid-August
Evaluations/ Tryouts: Mid-August

Divisions of Play

Below you will find a short description of each division and age group. Players are always welcome to play "up" an age division, but may never play "down" an age division. Lake Wales Little League follows the League Ages set forth by Little League International.

Senior Division 
Baseball and Softball
League Age 13 - 16 years old

The Senior Division is for players in the 13-16 age group. Players are required to try out and teams are drafted by managers. Scores and standings are kept. Players in this division are eligible for All-Stars if selected.

Major Division
Baseball and Softball
League Age 11 - 12 years old

The Major Division is for players in the 11-12 age group. Players are required to try out and teams are drafted by managers. Scores and standings are kept. Players in this division are eligible for All-Stars if selected.

Minor Division
Baseball and Softball
League Age 9 – 10 years old

The Minor Division is for players in the 9-10 age group. Players are required to try out and teams are drafted by managers. Scores and standings are kept. Players in this division are eligible for All-Stars if selected.

Mini-Minor Division
Baseball and Softball
League Age 7 – 8 years old

The Mini-Minor Division [Machine Pitch] is for players in the 7-8 age group. Mini-Minor is still a fully instructional division of play. Players are required to try out and teams are drafted by managers. Scores and standings are kept.

Coach Pitch Division
Baseball
League Age 6 years old

The Coach Pitch Division is for players who are league age 6. The Coach of the offensive team pitches to his/her own players. Softer baseballs are utilized to ensure safety. Teams are formed based on random placement in this division.

Tee Ball Division
Baseball
League Age 3 – 5 years old

The Tee Ball Division is for players in the 3 – 5 age group. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Softer baseballs are utilized to ensure safety. Teams are formed based on random placement in this division. We try to create two divisons of Tee Ball - Age 3/4 & 4/5 Separating the slighly older children to prepare them for the next level.
